Historiska Museet (Stockholm)
The Gold Room houses some of our oldest gold objects from the Bronze Age, the famous gold collars from the Migration Period and silver and gold from the Viking era. The Middle Ages are represented by the Elizabeth Reliquary from Marburg, the Dune Treasure, which is the largest medieval treasure in Europe, and the magnificent gold brooch from Motala River, to name but a few items. The objects illustrate the often staggering skill of ancient goldsmiths.

The Maya Game (27.04.2007-06.01.2008)

Historiska Museet (Stockholm)
An exhibition about the Maya culture but also about history in general. You will encounter six characters and their relationship with an archaeological burial site, exciting objects and each other. You will also hear several different stories about the Maya culture. Is there one true story? What part do we ourselves play in writing history? Let the game begin!

An impressive world ? with many parallels to modern times ? awaits the visitor in the Greek and Roman exhibition.
There are objects that illustrate different themes, such as love, man and woman, everyday life, sports and wars, Dionysus and wine, gods and heroes. Scenes and texts with a last farewell on tombstones, funeral urns and white grave vases show the end of life....
